Pismo Beach

Pismo Beach –  I am in awe of this amazing place.  Who would have thought you could have both the off-road fun of riding the sand dunes while enjoying the ocean??  This place provides just that.  Yes, you can camp on the beach for a measly $10.00 a night!  Or, if you don’t trust your RV in the sand, you can ride your vehicle up and down the beach or ride horses along the beach…whatever you like.  I could have spent a much longer time exploring this wonderland. Here are some photographic highlights of our two day stay there…ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Pinnacles

Pinnacles

Our first hiking trip to view the infamous Pinnacles, home to the California Condor.

Gull Lake

Gull Lake

The June Lake loop off the 395 is awesome! It is only about 17 miles, but scenic all the way. There are about 4 lakes and many creeks and rivers. Each one unique, and each one beautiful.

Finally!!!

Yes!  The big day is finally here! We have completed our goals and are ready to hit the road.  RV…check, Jeep Wrangler…check, destination…Joshua Tree…Check!  Our first stop will be Joshua Tree National Park.  After that we will make our way up through Barstow to visit Opal Mountain to do some rock hounding.  Then on to Red Rock Canyon State Park, then on to the Owens Valley following the 395 all the way thru Carson City Nevada and then to Lake Tahoe and then to Davis to celebrate Jen’s Birthday on Nov. 11th.  We will spend a few days up there and then take the coastal route stopping at State Beach Parks all the way to Malibu and on to San Diego.  We will be returning on Nov. 20th.

Look for pictures and stories as we make our way up the East side of the Sierras.

May the Schwartz be with us!

Flat Towing

I am learning so much!  I am astounded as to the sheer number of people that have been doing this RV thing for years!  Thank goodness!  All their experience and knowledge has been my salvation.  Thank you bloggers for all your great advice and suggestions!

Now I need some help in finding the right type of car that can be flat towed (all four wheels) behind an RV.  We are looking for a small, used car that is economical and gets good gas mileage.  I know that many of you have Wranglers…very popular…but we don’t want a truck or SUV.  Just something we can truck around in after we have set up camp.  Any suggestions?

Across The Moo-niverse

My husband and I are planning to hit the road in an RV full-time. We could use all the advice you care to send our way. I have to say that while we thought this was a daring adventure, I was shocked to see all the people already this (I love google). Actually, I am somewhat relieved and encouraged. So please share your tips, suggestions and experiences and I promise, I will do the same through this blog. Happy Trails!
